Holika Dahan
"Holika Dahan" takes place on the eve of Holi, also called 'Chhoti Holi'. This day symbolize triumph of good over evil.
A log of wood is kept at different public places on the Vasant Panchami day, around 40 days before the Holi Festival. On the day of Holika Dahan an effigy of Holika with child Prahlad in her lap is kept on the logs and set alight, this symbolize burning off the evil spirits.
This festival is followed by Holi, the most colorful festival of India.
